Internet Phone is another word for "VoIP" (Voice over Internet Protocol) or "Internet calling". Internet Phone is a great way for people to save money on their monthly phone bill.
NetFortris (formerly known as Fonality) is a top-rated business phone system, which offers flexible deployment and collaboration applications. Their services have one of the best retention rates in the industry, due in part to their communication tools, contact center features, and additional offerings that warrant high ratings from their customers. Fonality was acquired by NetFortris, and now the business phone service goes by the NetFortris brand. NetFortris Comm-unity is the name of the unified communications solution from NetFortris.
Note: The graphs above only measure the user ratings displayed over the last five years.
Editorial Review
NetFortris is a Texas-based provider of VoIP business phone systems, hosted PBX systems, hybrid deployment, and Unified Communications (UC) solutions. They cater to small to medium-sized businesses, but their offerings extend well beyond basic functionalities and calling features. Serving more than 300,000 users, Fonality is the VoIP provider of choice among organizations in the insurance, manufacturing and retail, business services and technology, and nonprofit and education industries, among other fields.
Affordable and Feature-Rich Plans
Fonality offers three plans: Essentials ($19.99 per user/per month), Professional ($24.99 per user/per month), and Ultimate ($34.99 per user/per month). Essentials is suitable for businesses still starting out with VoIP; Professional, their most popular plan, is ideal for those that require more; while the Ultimate plan is for larger businesses that need more sophisticated features.
All three plans include more than 100 phone features, unlimited calls to select countries, unlimited basic queues, auto attendant, 24/7 customer support, and access to a variety of educational phone system resources.
The title says it all - 4 outages in a year is worse than any VoIP provider I have worked with in the past 15 years. In short... NetFortris can't provide the basics - a reliable VoIP phone connection. They've shot themselves in the foot by implementing technology and policies that they have not thought through. They have not reviewed their infrastructure to ensure the reliability they promise their agents and customers. Support (even though we pay extra for "Platinum Support") is slow to respond and often doesn't get it right. I have two customers that I introduced to NetFortris a year ago and regret it deeply. We will be moving on at the end of the contract term. I suggest you look elsewhere.

Netfortris is the Worst customer service EVER
OTA
Much worse than AT&T or Comcast, every call puts you on hold for a long time. I spent hours on hold to resolve an issue that should have a simple fix. They do not have the staff to provide any reasonable level of service and refused to send a tech out to fix our phone system.
We won't have to put up with them for long

Terrible customer service, overpriced for features needed for tiny office
newphoneserviceinAtlanta
I joined a small office that had this phone service. It was fine until NetFortris took over and then everything went downhill. Customer service is incredibly slow. I inquired about issues sending and receiving faxes about a year ago and their response was that we were sending them wrong (we had their instructions and nothing had changed). After weeks, they finally admitted there was a component issue. We couldn't send or receive faxes for over a month. We are currently trying to cancel. Our sub-tenant asked us to cancel their lines and I submitted a request for that - it took NetFortris 12 days to respond to that. We were then able to decide on a new MUCH cheaper phone system with a competitor, and they would not even submit the cancellation until the phones were returned. Well, that's fine, but I've now been waiting 8 days for them to tell me where to send them and issue an RMA. I pointed out to them that since our numbers were ported and phones unplugged, there was no reason to bill us because dragging their feet obviously benefited them - the longer they wait to process the request, process the RMA, and process the cancellation means the longer they can bill us! The system is also complicated as hell. For a small business, we don't have a tech person who can spend time routing and figuring out their system. We moved to Ooma and it was super simple to set up in a fraction of the time. We are also paying less than half what we had been.

Fonality is not the kind of phone provider you want to hire
jbecker4
Fonality Review Up until recently the Becker Law firm (BLF) had been a loyal customer of Fonality – Netfortis. We were leasing our phones through Fonality, paying $22.00 a month per phone since 2016. Over the course of four years, we paid $5,280 for these phones. However, when something happened to the phone or the phone quality was reduced, it was BLF’s problem and Fonality would not pay to them fixed. This is one of the reasons we ultimately chose to cancel our service with this company. After cancelation of the service we are required to return the phones which was not unusual. During the four years that these phones were in use one of the phone’s was damaged, but it was still in working condition. Fonality/Netfortis wanted us to pay $375.00 for that phone. Not only was it four years old but, also that we had paid $1,056 for that phone over the course of its lifespan. After some research, the value of the telephone was less than $100.00. I called and spoke with a manager at Fonality/Netfortis. While she was pleasant to talk too it still took her days to try to get the matter resolved. When I told them that since I was going to have to buy the telephone, I wanted it returned they charged me to ship it back after I had to pay to ship the telephones to them. During one of my phone calls with Fonality/Netfortis they left me on hold for over an hour, which is unacceptable by any standard. After being left on hold for that amount of time they denied my request to have the phone shipped back to me at cost to them. The primary reason I cancelled my service with Fonality/Netfortis was cost. Our firm was their customer for over four (4) years and when I compared costs, I discovered that not only had the cost of this service declined over that period, but their new customers were paying significantly less than we were. When I inquired of my account representative if they could do something to bring my firm in line with what others in the industry were charging or what they charged new customers, I was told that if I were to go out and get a quote for a comparable service and submit it to them and they agreed that it was comparable, they would match that price. If I did not want to do that work, then they would give me a minimal price reduction but lock me into a long-term contract. I found both of these options unsatisfactory. I did the research they suggested, found a different service provider with more features than Fonality/Netfortis and at a significantly lower cost. I then switched my service to this provider and have been happy. Overall, I am not happy with my service with Fonality/Netfortis and I will not recommend them to anyone.
None that I can think ever, they make everything harder then it needs to be.

Absolutely terrible! I need a lawyer to get out of a 12 month contract I signed 5 years ago
Cableson
Absolutely terrible customer service. I have been trying to cancel my 12 month contract that came with free equipment for 20 months. The customer service has been misinforming my staff, saying we signed a five year contract. We have been using another provider for 20 months and are unable to cancel. Terrible service! It wasn't until I pulled up my contract that they agreed to cancel. After agreeing to cancel they have once again billed me saying that the contract cannot be cancelled because I have to send the old equipment back. Now I have to pay for that.

I had them for two years and cancelled prior to my renewal for service issues and features I could get with a new provider that they didn't offer and they claimed I didn't cancel with more than a 30 days notice and they sued me for $11,000 for the next year's serivce.

I was with this company for years. Because at the time VOIP phone carriers did not have the best reputation overall, I never bothered to shop until an unethical behavior surfaced. During a phone call with one of their reps, he identified for me that I was being charged for a phone that I never ordered or received for about 2-3 years. Their invoices are not the easiest to read anymore since it has a bunch of model and ID numbers etc.... Once I addresses this concern, which I was convinced that it would be refunded since I never ordered this phone and company errors occur all of the time, they decided to throw at me the 30 day terms and conditions story. That should apply for those who ordered a phone, but not when phones are added to an account without knowing. The monthly amount for that phone was not much, but adding it for the time period it was over 200 dollars. This issue was escalated and still they would not budge to work or retain my business. Everyone agreed with me that I wanted a refund, but they said that a phone was mailed out. Once I inquired of who was the signer, it was not even someone from my office. Who knows if they added this phone to my account but requested by another customer of theirs. Even with all of that proof, nothing was done. Then I reached out to the Facebook chat and a lady by the name of Keisha (Director of Marketing) responded that my concern would be shared with the CEO of the company. How they wanted to help me resolve my issue. After I provided her my e-mail address to begin that process 2 weeks went by and nothing ever happened. I reached out again to her and she apologized for no one to contact me etc..., but again no solution to retain. I have returned all the phones and my account is paid up-to-date, I keep e-mailing the RMA department with a request to update me on the next steps to close my account. No responses!! I just left their manager a message and hopefully she will end this nightmare for me. Clients can leave companies and return in the future, but this client will never return and will make sure that I will never refer any new prospects to this company again. Not sure what the story was with Fonality changing to NetFortris, but Netfortris has been worse. I am thrilled with my new carrier and always address all of my questions. Good luck ever signing up with this company.

Fonality - 0 star review
NikK
This company deserves a 0 star review. Their service and customer service are terrible. Their mobile technology and mobile app are terrible. I was never notified of my renewal in advance and when I tried to cancel the service it was a week long process that ended with threat of a $5600 termination fee (over 10 times the annual cost of service excluding taxes). Now they have auto-renewed my service for another year. I tried to contact their billing department today and was sent to voicemail. They must be using another provider because the voicemail attendant seemed to work. Avoid using this company at all cost. DO NOT USE FONALITY!

Love surprising our customers! - Fonality
allstate59224
I love to surprise a customer greeting them by name when they call. Even when they know it is a caller id type thing they do feel special and singled out. When I can look over their account and refresh myself with their account details it makes all the difference when speaking to them. That personalized service is a great tool to create a long lasting business relationship.
The ability to identify a customer immediately when they call, and pull up their account information is invaluable. It saves time for all involved
When it comes to business phone systems, NetFortris has its customers covered with an all-inclusive phone system that carries their unified communications software. Their software not only ensures a solid VoIP experience but also helps businesses to collaborate in the workplace and with their software, included features, and business tools like video conferencing, faxing, voicemail transcription, and more. Their business phone solutions are offered through three different plans, with more affordable pricing for users that would like an annual contract. Plus, NetFortris provides more than just talk: they offer included features, collaboration applications, and tools that help businesses stay ahead.
The Rub
NetFortris is aimed at delivering business phone solutions that are affordable, powerful, and reliable. They give their customers a variety of solutions, with easy set-up, and included features for call management and collaboration. The Essentials plan combines affordability and usability but does not include as many complex features. Great for businesses just starting out with VoIP.
The Professional plan includes more advanced features, like call screening and multiple "find me" functions. This is their most popular offering.
The Ultimate plan is their premise-based Unified Agent Edition, perfectly suited for sales calls and advanced call management. It comes with a higher per-month price but has nearly everything included.
All of their plans come with select included features, and also have additional features that can be added on for a per-user per-month fee.
Bottom Line
For top-rated and award-winning business phone service (and additional communication services), NetFortris has the solutions businesses need. For their business phone systems, NetFortris ensures that businesses have all of their areas covered, providing tools, software, and plug-ins that help businesses connect, collaborate, and control their calls.
